  • Deakin University Burwood Campus Room LT5 (B3.07), 221 Burwood Highway Burwood, VIC 3125 Australia (map)

You might have heard that "networking is everything in business" and although it sounds cheeky there is a lot of truth to it.

Networking is an extremely important skill for all business professionals and no matter what career path you choose to take you can benefit tremendously from having good people skills.

In this 2hr session you will get invaluable insights about the art of networking and how networking can play a huge role in helping you land your first job or when you're starting your first business.

We will explore various practical strategies for building relationships and how to act around people from different levels of the company hierarchy.

You will learn how to introduce yourself in a professional context and how to get, keep and grow your professional relationships in the future. We will talk about the importance of the reciprocity principle and how to avoid overuse of certain contacts.

Networking skills aren't typically something we train in school but it could very well be the single most important skill to learn for anyone starting their career or launching a startup.
